Upcoming Events

Feeding hungry families is a great cause, so we love to celebrate as we do it! Below you’ll find information about Food Connection events throughout the year. There’s something for everyone!

13th Annual Wheels to Meals Bike Ride – June 30th

Thank you for everyone for your support and interest in Wheels to Meals this year. Unfortunately, due to low pre-registrations, construction on our major routes, and shared routes with other events, we have decided to cancel this event.

We’d like to encourage everyone who has registered or planned to register to have your own “virtual” ride this Saturday to raise awareness and help us fight hunger. If you would like, you can send pictures of your ride to James Harper at development@foodconnection.org and he will be able to share your efforts with our whole community.

If you’d like to join, our director, Kevin Glackin-Coley, will be riding the Chehalis Western Trail this coming Sunday morning, July 1st, as part of his and his team’s commitment to ride. You can email him at keving@foodconnection.org if you’d like to join him!

3rd Annual Hunger Ball – October 6th

Boogie down with us for our third annual Hunger Ball! You’ll enjoy great music and heavy appetizers as well as a signature drink from a local distillery. We hope to see you there! Registration page coming soon!

Hunger Ball 2017

Thank you to all of our supporters for making this an incredible event! Over 100 people were dancing and fighting hunger with us on October 7th and we raised enough funds to provide 10,000 meals for families who come to the food bank.

Beers and Bags

Our group enjoyed a delicious beverage while bagging the dried goods that are a crucial part of the food that hungry families need when they come to the Food Connection. It was a great time and we look forward to holding another one soon!

Wheels to Meals 2017

This year, 108 riders came together to fight hunger for our neighbors and friends in Pierce County. Collectively, you and your friends rode more than 5,000 miles – that’s about the distance from WSU to the Lima, Peru!

While biking, you and your friends and family also raised about $19,500 to feed hungry families – $4,500 more than our goal! The money raised during this event will provide 85,500 meals for families in our community. None of this would have been possible without your dedication and support. Thank you for riding and sponsoring!
